24 Hour/Ten-Minute Play Festival For the 2011 Tennessee Theatre Association Conference Want to create an entire 10-minute play in just 24 hours? Here is your chance at the Tennessee Theatre Association Annual Conference, October 20 – 23, in Dickson, Tennessee. Students interested in participating MUST be registered for the Convention. Playwrights, directors, stage managers, actors and technicians will take part in the writing, staging, rehearsing and performing of the ten-minute plays. As a participant, you should consider which area you wish to be your primary area of participation although it is assumed that each group will work as a team to create their presentation. The Ten-Minute Play Festival will begin on at 8:00 pm on Thursday evening, October 20 at the Gaslight Theatre in the Renaissance Theatre. At that time participants will be divided in to teams (depending on number of participants). The playwrights will work (in conjunction with other team members) through the night on short plays (maximum 4 characters, minimum 2 characters) inspired by the actors and the props and costumes they brought to share. On Friday morning, the groups will read the finished scripts. The directors and actors will be joined by the stage managers and technicians for day long rehearsals culminating in:
