  • 1st Annual Clayton Center Community Theatre Festival (7/19/11)

    In a collaboration, rare if not unique, theatre groups from five counties are joining their talent and theatrical production mastery in a feast of musicals, plays, and revues. Hamblem, Knox, Blount, Anderson, and McMinn Counties are bringing or supporting productions to the Clayton Center for the Arts in Maryville, TN August 5-7 in the first annual Clayton Center Community Theatre Festival. In the space of three days, people who are devoted to theatre will be able to view up to five plays in the remarkable and varied performance spaces of East Tennessee's newest and most elaborate arts center.   • TTA CONFERENCE 2011 Special Guest Announced (5/30/11)

    The Tennessee Theatre Association is proud to announce Adriane Lenox will be the special guest for this years conference.

    Adriane Lenox won the 2005 Tony and Drama Desk Featured Actress in a Play award for her role in John Patrick Shanley's hit play Doubt and was featured as Matron in the 1996 Revival of Chicago.

    Adrian played the mother of football star Michael Oher in the 2009 film The Blind Side and currently appears as Tracy Jordan's wife, Sherry, in NBC's hit comedy, 30 Rock.

    She is a native of Jackson, Tennessee and is a graduate of Lambuth University.

  • TTA 24 Hour/Ten-Minute Play Festival (5/30/11)

    Want to create an entire 10-minute play in just 24 hours? Here is your chance! Playwrights, directors, stage managers, actors and technicians will take part in the writing, staging, rehearsing and performing of the ten-minute plays. As a participant, you should consider which area you wish to be your primary area of participation although it is assumed that each group will work as a team to create their presentation.   • TTA CONFERENCE 2010 Special Guest Announced

    CONFERENCE SPECIAL GUEST - Carol Mayo JenkinsThe Tennessee Theatre Association is proud to announce Carol Mayo Jenkins will be the special guest for this years conference.

    Carol Mayo Jenkins studied in London at the Central School of Speech and Dramatic Art and is a founding member of the Drama Centre, London. Miss Jenkins performed both on Broadway and Off-Broadway with such stars as Henry Fonda, Jane Alexander, Derek Jacobi, and John Cullum. She played Elizabeth Sherwood in the early 1980s on the award-winning television series Fame. Miss Jenkins now lives in her hometown of Knoxville where she is on the faculty of the University of Tennessee and occasionally works with the Clarence Brown Theatre.

  • New for 2010 - First Annual Design Competition and Portfolio Review

    The Design Competition is a chance to showcase your school's design/tech program. We want to see what you are working on! Both realized shows and non-realized class projects are eligible for entry. Eligibility is limited to full time undergraduates at current TTA member universities, but Spring graduates can still present at the following fall conference. (Read Full Details)

  • Theatre Seats and sound equipment available

    Theatre located in Newport TN is looking to sell theatre seats and some sound equipment to interested community theatres, schools or anyone else.

    Available are:

    • 150 theatre seats in good condition, with cup holders. Seats bolt to the floor. $15 per seat
    • Mixing board in console with DJ stand, 32 channel, comes with cords and electronics, needs speakers. $3500 - negotiable

  • Welcome Anna!

    The Tennessee Theatre Association would like to welcome its new Executive Director, Ms. Anna Filippo.

    Anna lived in Georgia for 17 years and moved to TN in 2008. She grew up in Clarksville, and completed her undergraduate studies at Austin Peay University, where she now teaches adjunct. Her father, Joe Filippo, has been active in TTA for years and served as President from 1983-1984.
